ASCO introduces offshore solenoid valve for challenging oil and gas industry applications
Offshore version of ASCO 327 Series solenoid valve reduces costs, enhances safety and extends operational life in difficult environments
ASCO announces an offshore version of its 327 Series solenoid valve specifically designed for challenging upstream oil and gas industry applications. The new valve is constructed from corrosion-resistant materials that are compliant with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 standards, meeting the need for a valve that is reliable and highly resistant to corrosion.
The new valve is ideally suited to offshore applications where sour gas may be present. It is fully NACE compliant in respect of all parts that may come into contact with sour gas environments. In addition, all of the internal components that could be exposed to the atmosphere during installation or maintenance are also made of NACE compliant materials.
Available as ¼” and ½” versions, Series 327 valves are 3/2 direct operated solenoid valves with a flow rate up to 1.8 m³/h. The non-breathing design does not bring in air from the environment - eliminating a source of potential corrosion that could result in valve failure.
Based on the principle of a balanced poppet type construction, Series 327 pilot valves are extremely reliable and have a long service life. They can be mounted in any position and are available with low power solenoid operators with a consumption of just 1.8 Watt. This reduces running and installation costs, and extends operational life.
Series 327 valves are available as intrinsically safe and explosion proof (Ex d, ia and em b) versions. These valves can also be supplied as a component in of a modular Actuator Control System. They are ideal for demanding applications in the petrochemical and oil and gas industries. Proven in use over a wide range of applications, the valves are Exida and TÜV certified to IEC 61508 Functional Safety and can be used in safety applications up to SIL-3.
