ASCO Engineering Scholarship - 2013 Winners

Meghan Borz

Meghan is studying for her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Honors Studies at Rowan University. She has maintained a 3.59 GPA throughout her academic career. Meghan has a passion for the outdoors and long distance running and is actively involved in Rowan University's Varsity Cross-country and Track and Field teams.

A few of Meghan’s many honors and activities include:

  • Captain of Rowan University's Women's Cross-country Team
  • President of the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society Gamma Tau Sigma Chapter
  • NASA New Jersey Space Grant Consortium Fellowship
  • NCAA Atlantic All-Region honors and USTFCCA Academic All-American honors

My financial stress has been significantly reduced, allowing me to focus more on my academics, athletics, and applying for Graduate school and career opportunities. Additionally, the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas and attend the Packaging Expo was an amazing experience! William (Daniel) Whitten

Daniel is studying for his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at TexasA&M University. He has maintained a 3.98 GPA throughout his academic career. Daniel has a passion for photography and is an electronics hobbyist and is actively involved in researching the use of computer simulations to model the complex behavior of shape memory alloys.

A few of Daniel’s many honors and activities include:

  • National Merit Scholar
  • Active member of Campus Crusade for Christ
  • Worked with Texas A&M Engineers Without Borders team to improve the water distribution system in a rural Costa Rican community

"I am extremely grateful to ASCO Numatics for their scholarship program and dedication to the next generation of engineers. In addition to receiving a significant financial contribution to my education, I was invited to attend the PACK Expo in Las Vegas. This trip was very memorable and I saw firsthand how ASCO Numatics is investing in engineering students through programs such as the Amazing Packaging Race. I am honored to have been chosen for this award and am thankful for the unforgettable time I spent with numerous ASCO Numatics employees."
